Affiliate Disclosure
This site is free to read because of affiliate commission. Here is precisely how that works, what it costs you, and what it does and does not change about what you read here. The trips are compared on the Catalina Island snorkeling comparison.
The short version
If you book a trip after following a link from this site, the booking platform may pay us a commission. You pay the same fare you would pay by going to the platform directly — the commission comes out of their side, not yours.
We are not a tour operator, a travel agency or a seller of travel. We do not sell trips, take payments or act as anybody's agent.
Who does what on your booking
Every trip listed here is sold and operated by a third party. At the moment that is five separate Dominican operators — Dominican Attitude Excursions, Quetzal Excursions, Aquatic EmotionRD, Dominican Emotion and One Click Shuttles and Travel — all selling through one booking platform, GetYourGuide. Each operator's name, the platform and the product ID are printed on the trip's page here so you can find the same listing yourself and check it.
The operator runs the boat, sets the price, decides the pickup window and defines who they will and will not carry. The platform takes your payment, issues the voucher and holds the cancellation terms. Both of those happen on their site, after you leave ours.
What the commission does not buy
It does not buy a place on this page, a badge, or a position in the running order. Nobody has paid to be listed here and no operator has been offered the chance to. The trip carrying our pick is the one with the most time in the water, which is neither the cheapest nor the dearest of the five, and the reason is printed next to the badge so you can disagree with it.
Where a listing has an awkward limitation — an operator that will not take travellers over 70, a boat that cannot be booked by guests of one particular resort, a lunch that is not served until one o'clock — it is written down rather than left out. A comparison that omits the inconvenient half is an advertisement.
Prices and terms
Every price here is a "from" price: the lowest adult shared-group rate visible on the listing on the date printed beside it, in US dollars. Fares move, exchange rates move, and operators run seasonal rates — the figure confirmed at checkout on the platform is the one that counts.
Cancellation terms, age limits, accessibility and inclusions are also the operator's and can change without anything changing here. If you spot a difference between this site and the live listing, the live listing wins, and we would be glad to hear about it through the contact page.
